Service Description

The beginning of a real practice. Foundational introduces Hatha yoga as it is understood in the classical tradition — taught slowly, in a consistent structure, so the body and nervous system learn the practice rather than merely follow along. Each 75-minute class follows the same clear shape: a warm-up to prepare the body, a sequence of classical postures, a breathing practice, and a long final rest. Postures are held for one to two minutes — long enough to move past the first impression of a posture and begin to feel what it actually does. Nothing is rushed. Breath and posture are given equal weight. Breathwork (prāṇāyāma) begins here simply, with observing the natural breath before learning to shape it — and it is woven through the class, not taught as a separate session. What we do in class • Centering and breath awareness • Gentle warm-up and joint mobility • Foundational standing poses, seated stretches and simple backbends, with detailed alignment • An extended, guided Śavāsana (final rest) — treated as one of the most important parts of the class This class is for you if • You are new to yoga, or new to Hatha specifically • You are returning to practice after a break • You are working with a health condition, an injury, or a period of low energy • You want to understand the classical practice from the ground up • You are an experienced practitioner establishing your foundation at this school You do not need any experience, and you do not need to be flexible. What helps is regularity — the practice builds on itself when you come back each week. What to bring Comfortable clothing you can move in, and a water bottle. Cancellation Policy

Booking & cancellation policy • You can book a class up to 14 days in advance. • Bookings close 4 hours before a class starts, so we can confirm numbers with our teachers and prepare the room. • Cancellations and reschedules: please cancel or reschedule at least 4 hours before class.
